BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A former Massachusetts police officer recently acquitted of sexually assaulting a girl in Florida is now facing charges of abusing another girl in New Hampshire.

The Eagle Tribune reported not guilty pleas were entered in Rockingham Superior Court on Thursday for 49-year-old Carlos Gonzalez on 14 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. Gonzalez is accused of abusing an 11-year-old Salem girl in 1992 and 1993.

He was indicted in New Hampshire while awaiting trial in Florida’s Polk County, where he was acquitted last month of sexual battery of a girl between the ages of 12 and 18.

She told police in Lawrence, Mass., where Gonzalez was an officer for 25 years, that Gonzalez assaulted her while he was vacationing in Haines City last year.

Gonzalez was fired in July.
