Howliday Extravaganza

Coastal Humane Society at 30 Range Road in Brunswick will continue its quest to find homes for more than 100 animals this month through the Howliday Extravaganza and a Very Merry Catmas adoption event.

Fees will be waived for all cats adopted and discounts given for all dogs adopted through Dec. 31 at CHS.

All cats and dogs at CHS have been spayed/neutered and have up-to-date vaccinations.

The shelter is open daily from noon to 6 p.m., except Wednesdays, when it is closed.

PORTLAND

Anime movies for teens

The Portland Public Library Teen Room will be showing anime movies from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays for teens.

Do you like manga and anime? These classic films are considered some of the greatest animated feature films made in Japan and include everything from rare classics directed by Rintaro to the latest releases by Studio Ghibli

The library is located at 5 Monument Square in Portland.

KENNEBUNK

Holiday Craft Extravaganza

Kennebunk Free Library is hosting a Holiday Craft Extravaganza on Monday at 112 Main St. in Kennnebunk.

Children of all ages are invited to drop in between 2 and 4 p.m. for an open reading of the Dr. Seuss classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” followed by a number of activities for all skill levels.

Any child age 6 or younger must be accompanied by a helper.

Friday at 11 a.m. the library will host a Snowflake Chandelier craft program for tweens in grades 5 through 8.

Participants will create paper snowflakes as well as snowflakes made from doilies sprinkled with glitter and strung on fishing line.

All events are free and wheelchair accessible.

The library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of Christmas.

It will also close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and stay closed Jan. 1.
