YARMOUTH — Ariel Potter scored all three goals for Yarmouth/Freeport, including the tiebreaker early in the third period, as the Clippers beat Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete 3-1 in a girls’ hockey game Monday at Travis Roy Arena.

Yarmouth/Freeport (8-0) took the lead with 5:16 left in the second period when Potter scored on an assist from Emily Johnson. Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (3-4) tied it 23 seconds later on a goal by Gretchen Stevens.

Molly Wilson also had an assist for Yarmouth/Freeport, and Hannah Williams made 11 saves.

Kathryn Clark assisted on the lone Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete goal. Lily Jordan stopped 15 shots for the Capers.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

YARMOUTH 1, KENNEBUNK 1: Brandon Merchant scored the equalizer for Kennebunk (3-1-1) just over a minute into the third period on an assist from Dave Parker as the Rams played to a tie against the Clippers (2-1-1) at Alfond Forum in Biddeford.

Yarmouth took the lead just 1:20 into the game when Bobby Murray scored, assisted by Max Watson and Patrick Grant.

Mike LeBlanc finished with 30 saves for the Rams. Yarmouth goalie Nick Allen stopped 27 shots.

WESTBROOK 9, MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Darian Doucette scored three times and Jacob Kessler had two goals and an assist for Westbrook (1-5) in a victory over the Mustangs (0-4) in Biddeford.

Ryan Gillian added a goal and three assists.

Alex LeBlanc stopped 15 shots for the Blue Blazes. Timothy King had 47 saves for Massabesic/OOB.

GORHAM 59, SCARBOROUGH 45: Sam Kilborn scored 17 points and Corey Nadeau added 16 to lead the Rams (3-2) over the Red Storm (3-2) at Gorham.

Nick Thibeault chipped in 13 points for Gorham, which led 27-20 at halftime and extended its lead to 10 points going into the fourth quarter.

Scarborough was paced by Matt Hartle with 14 points and Nate Wessel with 12.

DEERING 53, WESTBROOK 47: Ahmed Ali made three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, and Patrick Lobor scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Rams (3-2) downed the Blue Blazes (1-5) at Portland.

Benedict Williams collected 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists off the bench for Deering, which led 38-26 at halftime.

Moses Abwoch led Westbrook with 14 points and Aquai Alexander scored 13.

WINDHAM 61, BIDDEFORD 44: Kevin Weisser scored 11 points in the first half and Spencer Hodge added eight while leading the Eagles (3-3) to a 33-23 lead over Biddeford (0-6) in Windham.

Weisser finished with 16 points and Hodge scored 15.

Biddeford got 15 points from Terrence McCann and 12 from Cory Creeger.

PORTLAND 73, THORNTON ACADEMY 36: Matt Talbot finished with 24 points, six rebounds, six steals and three blocked shots to lead the Bulldogs (6-0) past the Trojans (2-3) at Portland.

Stephen Alex and Jayvon Pitts-Young added 15 and 12 points.

Kevin Barrett paced Thornton with 15 points.

SANFORD 66, NOBLE 63: John Morgan scored 21 points and Tye Laviolette added 13 to lead the Spartans (2-4) to a comeback victory over Noble (2-3) in North Berwick.

Sanford trailed 46-43 after three quarters.

Brady Dodge scored 24 for Noble, Grayson Whelan finished with 16 and Nolan Smeeton had 10.

WAYNFLETE 52, TRAIP ACADEMY 38: Serge Nyirikamba scored 15 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to help the Flyers (5-0) pull away from the Rangers (2-3) at Kittery.

Harry Baker-Connick and Milo Belleau added 11 points apiece for Waynflete, which led 32-30 going into the fourth quarter.

Traip was paced by Peter Roy with 14 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

GORHAM 66, SCARBOROUGH 48: Emily Esposito scored 10 points to power a 25-10 run in the second quarter as the Rams (3-3) opened a 41-20 halftime lead against the Red Storm (4-2) in Scarborough.

Esposito finished with 21 points for the Rams, and Ashley Woodbury scored 10.

Brooke Malone topped Scarborough with 16 points.

DEERING 41, WESTBROOK 32: Courtney Brett scored five points and LeeAnn Downs keyed the defense as Deering (3-3) used a 10-2 run in the third quarter to erase a five-point deficit against the Blue Blazes (2-4) in Westbrook.

Katasia Titherington led the Rams with 19 points.

Alexis Redmond scored 12 for Westbrook.

SOUTH PORTLAND 47, BONNY EAGLE 31: South Portland (4-2) overcame a four-point deficit with a 17-4 run in the second quarter against the Scots (1-5) at Standish.

Madeline Hasson scored seven of her 16 points during the decisive quarter.

Lydia Henderson finished with 11 points for the Red Riots. Samantha Maxfield had 10 for Bonny Eagle.

WINDHAM 52, BIDDEFORD 23: Sadie Nelson scored nine of her 16 points during the second quarter as Windham (5-1) extended a four-point lead over the Tigers (1-4) to a 33-17 advantage in Biddeford.

Sam Frost added 11 points for the Eagles. Carissa Gelinas paced Biddeford with eight points.
