Any discussion of the appropriateness of wind energy should include data on the energy any proposed wind system can deliver to the grid.

The 130 proposed wind machines at 3.6 megawatts each are assumed to deliver 1,500 gigawatt-hours of electricity each year. Electricity use in Massachusetts is 42,804 gigawatt-hours per year.

The proposed Cape Wind project will deliver about 2 percent of current Massachusetts electricity demand.
