In response to Susan Cook’s excellent Maine Voices column (“The not-so-funny thing about Maine humorists? They are hard to find,” Dec. 26), I suggest we all need to offset the crazy politics of Maine, the nation and world, with a few laughs.

For those who remember him, the untimely death of Maine humorist Marshall Dodge in 1982 left a major void in our hearts. However, thanks to his original partner, Robert Bryan, and our well-known Maine humorist Tim Sample, perhaps Maine humor is not in jeopardy after all.

Information about their brand-new CD “Bert and I … Rebooted” and other efforts to bring Marshall Dodge’s Maine humor back into our lives is available at www.BertandI.ME. Among several other locations, CDs are available at Bull Moose, Sherman’s Book & Stationery Store and Longfellow Books.
