Bus driver honored for history of safety excellence

Stella Beleckis, a school bus driver with Ledgemere Transportation, recently was recognized by her employer’s parent company, Student Transportation Inc. (STI), with a Wall of Fame Award for excellence in safety standards.

Beleckis was nominated for the award by a manager for going above and beyond her duties to ensure safety for her riders.

The nominations are evaluated by a STI selection committee, which determines the final recipients from each region.

Some of the criteria for the recognition include exemplary safety practices within their role, accident-free service, community service and involvement, reliability and knowledge of company policies and procedures, perfect attendance, good character and attitude and exceptional performance in their role.

Beleckis attended an awards dinner in Asbury Park, N.J., along with 12 other inductees, each of whom met with members of the company’s senior leadership team.

All winners received gifts and a personalized plaque.
