NAPLES — Adam LaBrie made two free throws with 6.7 seconds left Thursday night to lift Yarmouth to a 55-53 victory against Lake Region in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

David Murphy had 17 points and Nathaniel Shields-Auble added 10 for the Clippers (12-4), who scored 20 points in each of the middle quarters but just four in the fourth.

Mark Williams, who made it 53-53 on two free throws, had 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Lakers (8-8). Jackson Lesure added 17 points.

THORNTON ACADEMY 47, MARSHWOOD 45: Quinn Richardson-Newton scored five of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, hitting 3 of 4 free throws in the final two minutes to lift the Golden Trojans (9-6) past the Hawks (6-10) at South Berwick.

Richardson-Newton’s deciding points came after Marshwood rallied from a nine-point first-quarter deficit to take the lead on a Jack Letellier bucket with two minutes left.

SCARBOROUGH 72, SANFORD 48: Matt Hartl scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures for the Red Storm (8-8) against the Spartans (10-6) at Scarborough.

Nate Wessel added 16 points, Milani Hicks 15 and Sam Freeman 14 for Scarborough.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

WELLS 59, POLAND 49: Alison Furness scored 13 points to lead a balanced offense for the Warriors (14-2) against the Knights (9-7) at Wells.

Jordan Agger, Sophie Lamb and Nicole Moody added eight points apiece for Wells, which led 23-13 after one quarter and 50-32 after three.

WISCASSET 47, BOOTHBAY REGION 34: Kayla Gordon scored 15 points, Briana Goud had 13 and the Wolverines (6-11), at Wiscasset, snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Seahawks (7-10).

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 51, RICHMOND 30: Abigail Dubois scored 19 points and Kelsey Custeau had 14 to lead the Seagulls (11-5) past the Bobcats (7-9) at Richmond.

Mackenzie Rague chipped in with eight points, five assists and four steals for Old Orchard,.

THORNTON ACADEMY 51, MARSHWOOD 39: Kailtyn McCrum scored 14 points and Isabella Robinson added 10 as the Golden Trojans (13-2) handled the Hawks (7-8) at South Berwick.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

SOUTH PORTLAND 5, LAKE REGION/FRYEBURG ACADEMY/OXFORD HILLS 4: Andrew Whipple and Dylan Farrell-Reny each scored two goals for the Red Riots (6-5), who finished with five unanswered goals for an overtime win against the Ice Cats (3-8) at Portland.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

BIDDEFORD 3, CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 1: Dalani Roy scored the tiebreaker with 5:47 remaining, and the Tigers (12-5) used three third-period goals to get by the Capers (9-8) at Biddeford.

GREELY 6, WINSLOW 2: Maura Verrill scored three times to lead the Rangers (12-5) over the Black Raiders (2-16) at Winslow.

LEAVITT/EDWARD LITTLE 2, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 0: Taylor Landry scored in each of the first two periods and Tori Sanford made 16 saves as the Red Hornets (14-3) edged the Clippers (12-4-1) at Yarmouth.

FALMOUTH 7, YORK 0: Camden Carrier had three goals and an assist to pace the Yachtsmen (12-5) against the Wildcats (4-12-1) at Falmouth.
