LISBON FALLS — Gavin Kane earned his 500th career high school coaching victory Saturday when undefeated Spruce Mountain defeated Lisbon 61-34 in a schoolgirl basketball game.

Kane, who previously coached the Rangeley boys, and Dirigo girls and boys, is 500-98 in 29 seasons.

Emily Keene paced Spruce Mountain (17-0) with 15 points against the Greyhounds (6-11). Samantha Richards added 11.

CALAIS 57, FORT KENT 33: Paige Gillespie scored 14 points to lead Calais (14-2) over the Warriors (5-12) at Fort Kent.

Kaylee Johnson and Madison McVicar added 10 points apiece for the Blue Devils. Chelsey Plourde led Fort Kent with 12 points.

KENTS HILL 37, NORTH HAVEN 28: Ashley Doyle scored 24 points to lead the Class C Huskies (8-4) to a win over Class D North Haven (2-14).

Faith Forsythe added six points for Kents Hill. Jasmine Brown paced North Haven with 15 points.

MESSALONSKEE 49, BREWER 34: Kelsey Mayo scored 25 points to lead the Eagles (11-6) over the Witches (2-14) at Brewer.

Sophie Holmes added six points for Messalonskee.

Meg Davis and Courtney Pearson each scored eight points for Brewer.

HOCKEY

FALMOUTH 4, BIDDEFORD 1: Martina St. Angelo scored twice in the first period and again early in the second to lead the Yachtsmen (13-5) past the Tigers (12-6) at Biddeford.

Camden Carrier added a goal late in the second for Falmouth.

Cassidy Petit scored for Biddeford at 6:20 of the third from Brea Rivard.

Cassie Ellis finished with 50 saves for the Tigers. Alex Hurdman had 16 saves for Falmouth.

LEWISTON 2, GREELY 1: Erica Lemieux scored from Sam Cote in the first period and Corinne Laberge added an unassisted goal 7:09 into the third to give Lewiston (13-4-1) a 2-0 lead against the Rangers (13-5) at Falmouth.

Danita Storey scored with three minutes left for Greely.

Paige Fontaine had 19 saves for the Blue Devils. Greely’s Maura Perry stopped 20 shots.

MT. ARARAT 7, PORTLAND/DEERING 0: Kayla Richardson and Nellie Hetherington scored two goals apiece for Mt. Ararat at Portland.

Carly Raymond, Devon Hutchins and Kelly Richard also scored.
