Ice Fishing Derby, Sagadahoc County waters

The Phippsburg Sportsmen’s Association is hosting the 15th Dickie Lemont Ice Fishing Derby on Sagadahoc County waters until 4 p.m. Weigh-in is from noon to 4 p.m. and no live fish will be weighed in. Weigh-in is at the Sportsmen’s Association clubhouse on Route 209 in Phippsburg. Compete for prizes in categories for bass, trout, crappie, pickerel and perch.

Moonlight Walk, 6:30 p.m. in Scarborough

The Eastern Trail Alliance is leading another moonlit walk along the Eastern Trail, this time in Scarborough. Meet at the ET parking lot on Pine Point Road. Flashlights and pets are discouraged. No charge. All welcome. This easy stroll should last about two hours. For more information, call 590-3505.

South Coastal Birding, 8 a.m., Feb. 22, Ogunquit

Join Merrymeeting Audubon on this birding trip from Ogunquit to Biddeford Pool. The group will search for harlequin ducks, scoters, purple sandpipers and snowy owls. Bring a lunch or a snack and expect a stop at Cong-don’s Doughnuts. Meet at the Brunswick Hannaford at 8 a.m. to car pool. For more information, call 841-1951.

Party at Aroostook State Park, 10 a.m. Feb. 22, Presque Isle

Maine’s first state park, Aroostook State Park, is hosting its seventh annual “Winter Family Fun Day.” Spend a winter’s day at the park. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating (conditions permitting), guided nature interpretive walks, bonfires and hot food will fill the day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Instruction provided. Cost is $1.50 for ages 12 to 64; all others are free. For more information, call 768-8341.
