WINSLOW — The China Road Rite Aid Monday was robbed Monday afternoon, the second time in two years it’s happened at the business.
A man gave a pharmacy employee at the Rite Aid a note demanding prescription narcotics and implied he had a gun around 3 p.m., according to a press release from the Winslow Police Department.

The robber is a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, between six feet and six feet two inches with an average build, according to the release. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a black baseball hat and glasses, according to the release.
The robber was specific in what he wanted, according to police, but they would not give details in order to protect the investigation.
The robber fled the store on foot with the drugs and police believe he got into a vehicle and drove away. Police did not have a description of the vehicle.
No one was injured during the robbery.
No one has been charged in the April 2012 robbery at the same Rite Aid.
A Bangor Savings Bank on China Road near the pharmacy was robbed by two men in July 2013. No one has been charged in connection with that robbery, either.
In 2012, there were 421 robberies in Maine, nearly a 14 percent increase from 2011, according to the Maine State Police annual Unified Crime Report. In 2012, 44 of those robberies were in Kennebec County, seven more than the previous year.
Monday afternoon, the Rite Aid had signs on its doors that read “Closed for time being” and a police cruiser partially blocked the entrance.
Police are asking that anyone with information or who may have witnessed the robbery or the fleeing robber to contact that at 207-872-5215.
