NEW GLOUCESTER — Challenges facing unique Maine industries such as boat building and paper production will be discussed during the Manufacturing Summit at Pineland Farm in New Gloucester.

Gov. Paul LePage will attend the industry mixer to discuss the latest developments in manufacturing and job creation in Maine on Thursday.

Representatives from eight fields including the timber industry as well as agriculture and bioscience will attend the event, which is sponsored by the Manufacturers Association of Maine.

There will be information on the national “Dream It. Do It.” program, which connects Maine students with employers for training programs and promotes job opportunities for the state’s youth through the association.
