On March 19, in the latest issue of Elle, our very own Sen. Susan Collins was named one of the 10 most powerful women in Washington, D.C., the only U.S. senator to make the list!

Certainly, given the long list of powerful and influential women in Washington, being named one of the top 10 is a major accomplishment. Odd that the largest, and presumably most influential, newspaper in Maine chose to leave any mention of this achievement off their pages.

This is an honor not only for the senator personally, but also for the great state of Maine, which she has so vigilantly served in Washington for the past 18 years. We are fortunate to benefit from her service, and you should be ashamed to not recognize her publicly for receiving this distinction.
