PEORIA, Ill. — Grammy Award-winning banjo player Bela Fleck received a fitting welcome when he arrived at the Peoria International Airport. Eight members of the Central Illinois Banjo Club serenaded him Thursday.

The Journal Star reported that the group included six banjo players, a guitarist and a mandolin player. They played a chorus of “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue” as Fleck exited security.

Fleck called it “the greatest welcome that I’ve ever had in my life.” He is scheduled to play with the orchestra Saturday.
