As a person of faith, I find the words “imitating” and “mimicking” as used in one of your dispatches Monday morning rather offensive (“Church leaders to conduct ritual foot-washing Thursday” April14).
The washing of the feet is neither an imitation nor the mimicking of Christ’s action the night he celebrated the Passover with his disciples. This is a re-enactment of Christ’s humble actions at the Last Supper and is celebrated by Christians worldwide.
