An exhibition of art work from students at the University of Maine at Augusta is on display through May 1 at the Charles Danforth Gallery, located in Jewett Hall on the campus.

The 2014 Juried Student Art Exhibition features a broad range of media and topics that showcase the students’ work at all stages of academic development.

Local artist Kirsten Campbell and University of Maine professor Laurie Hicks juried the exhibit. Campbell has worked as a professional artist and exhibited in commercial galleries and museum exhibitions nationally and internationally.

Hicks is an art professor at the university, where she teaches art education theory and practice, and graduate research methods for MFA students.

There will be a reception to celebrate exhibiting students from 3 to 5 p.m. on April 27. The gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.
