Country music singer Dierks Bentley could be coming to Portland’s waterfront next month.

On Monday, Portland City Council will consider a request from Waterfront Concerts to host a concert by Bentley at Maine State Pier on June 12. City officials have already signed off on two other concerts at Maine State Pier: rock band 3 Doors Down will perform an acoustic show on Aug. 3 and Freddie McGregor will headline the Portland Reggae Fest on Aug. 10.

Bentley has numerous hit albums, several of which have gone platinum by selling more than a million copies.

More concerts are possible at Maine State Pier, which has a capacity of roughly 3,000 people.

“There is the potential for two more that Waterfront Concerts has said they would like to bring to us,” said Jessica Grondin, spokeswoman for the city. Grondin said she didn’t know which acts Waterfront Concerts is considering.
