As president of Portland Ovations, I would like to thank the Crewe Foundation for its grant of $10,000 to help stage our new opera “The Summer King.” Music, opera and baseball fans everywhere will benefit.
As a citizen of Portland, I would like to thank the Crewe Foundation for its wonderfully generous gift of $3 million to the Maine College of Art. The visual, musical and audio artists of our future will be nurtured by the foundation’s far-seeing philanthropy.
And as a child of the ’60s, I want to say, “Thank you, Bob Crewe, for creating so much of the soundtrack of my childhood. ‘Walk Like a Man,’ my friend.”
