Mark Andersen joined Gowen Power Systems as an operations manager.

Andersen was previously with Gowen Marine as service writer. He has several years of experience in generator sales and service experience.

PROMOTIONS

Frank Alosa was promoted to news director at Newsradio 560 WGAN.

Alosa has been with the station for more than a year, serving as lead news reporter and afternoon drive news anchor.

Gowen Power Systems promoted two on its staff.

Pete Thompson was named service manager. He has been with the firm for more than nine years.

Rebecca Howard was promoted to office manager of inside sales. She has been with the firm for more than 10 years.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Randall Smith, a senior partner in the firm Smith & Elliott P.A. in Saco, was sworn in as president of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association.

Also sworn in was Michael Welch, a partner with Hardy Wolf & Downing, who was named president-elect. Christopher Largay, president of Largay Law Offices P.A, was named treasurer. Alison Wholey, a partner with Briggs & Wholey LLC, was appointed secretary. Daniel Stevens, an attorney at Pierce Atwood, was elected past-president. The new officers took their positions at the association’s annual meeting in Freeport in late March.

Cross Employee Benefits, a specialty division of Cross Insurance, was named “Allied Member of the Year” by the Maine Restaurant Association.

GENERAL

Gowen Power Systems has moved and expanded its Kohler generator operations to 41 Evergreen Drive in Portland.

Nancy Marshall, chief executive officer of Nancy Marshall Communications, was retained by the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce to provide ongoing media and public relations services beginning April 1.
