Portland police arrested a gunman Thursday afternoon on Revere Street after he allegedly pointed a gun at a house as part of a neighborhood dispute.

Police charged Juergen Bolte, 71, of 99 Revere St., with terrorizing and threatening display of a firearm, after a passerby saw Bolte standing in his front yard pointing a rifle at a neighbor’s house, police said.

Police – who had already been to the house shortly before the 4 p.m. arrest to mediate a dispute – found Bolte sitting in the bushes with a rifle.

Bolte did not fire the rifle and police believe the neighbor was unaware the gun was being pointed at his house, said Assistant Chief Vern Malloch. Nobody was hurt.

Police hid behind trees and houses, some with their guns drawn, shortly before the man’s arrest, witnesses said.
