The chief judge of the Maine District Courts has appointed Judge Jeffrey Moskowitz to serve as second in command.

Chief Judge Charles C. LaVerdiere says he’s grateful to Moskowitz for agreeing to serve as deputy chief judge to assist him in the administration of Maine’s 29 district courts.

Moskowitz was first appointed to the District Court in 2008. He takes the post formerly held by Robert E. Mullen, who was sworn in as a superior court justice May 22.
