Open Winery Day invites us to enjoy Maine’s wines

The third annual Open Winery Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7 at participating wineries around Maine.

Wineries will host complimentary tastings, tours, artisanal food samplings, food and wine pairings, wine-making demonstrations and special events during this celebration that’s sponsored by the Maine Winery Guild.

Once held in September, the event has been moved to early June as a way of “kicking off” the winery season and to encourage Mainers to get out and enjoy the state’s wineries before the tourist season is in full swing.
