• Briana Goud of Wiscasset High School was among three Maine students and 18 overall from New England recognized by Hood Milk with a $5,000 scholarship as part of the Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship program.

Trevor Lyford of Penquis Valley and Kevin Kingsbury of Cony were also recognized.

• Former Morse High wrestler Ben Goulette, Wells High Coach Scott Lewia, Lisbon High Coach Mark Stevens and former Gorham High wrestler Jeremy Reynolds will be inducted into the Maine Amateur Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame in a ceremony on August 2 at the Hyde School in Bath.

Ted Reese, a longtime coach at Bonny Eagle High and the University of Southern Maine, will receive a lifetime achievement award. The alliance will also honor its coach of the year (Matt Rix of Marshwood High), wrestler of the year (Tyler Everett of Massabesic) and persons of the year (Aaron James, Don McCann and Joshua Pelletier of the University of Maine).

• Matt Ouellette made a hole-in-one on the 210-yard 16th hole at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Auburn on June 1. He used a No. 4 hybrid for the shot, which was witnessed by Kelly Cates, Craig Chapman and Garrett Copp.

• Mark Snyder recorded his second career ace during the Dream Factory Tournament on June 6 at Sable Oaks in South Portland.

Snyder used a 7-iron for the 146-yard shot on the 13th hole. The shot was witnessed by Bill Crawford, Jim Mount, Jake Pearson and Roger Morin.
