The Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport has completed a $6 million renovation and expansion that includes the addition of 36 rooms, according to a news release issued Friday.

Hotel officials said the upgrade project was prompted by Portland International Jetport’s $65 million expansion, which nearly doubled the airport’s size and helped bring Southwest Airlines to the state.

The Hilton, at 145 Jetport Blvd. in Portland, is adjacent to the airport and now has 124 new and renovated guest rooms, a heated indoor pool and hot tub, 800 square feet of meeting space, a 24-hour business center and a newly upgraded lobby, featuring the hotel brand’s Garden Grille and Bar, which serves breakfast, cocktails and dinner daily.

The hotel, operated by Connecticut-based New Castle Hotels and Resorts, offers complimentary shuttle service to the airport and downtown Portland.
