I just finished reading the June 14 letter “Bergdahl decision proves anyone can be president.”

I am sure that letter writer Kevin Benjamin actually believes what he says, and he is certainly entitled to say it. However, I find it very difficult to comprehend why the editor responsible for the letters would print this.

There are two sides to the Bowe Bergdahl incident. Some are convinced he was a traitor. Others, myself included, believe President Obama made the right decision to bring Sgt. Bergdahl home and determine mental state.

Personally, I doubt that he is a traitor, since there is no evidence yet that he would have somehow have concluded that the Taliban are good people who want to kill or wound American soldiers.

In any event, to reach the conclusion that President Obama is a person with a low level of intelligence is obviously absurd.
