Your endorsement of an increase in the gas tax is astute.
While “politically unpopular,” the math should satisfy the simplest of minds.
A car that travels 20,000 mikes a year and gets only 20 miles per gallon will use 1,000 gallons of gas.
A 10-cent increase will cost a whopping hundred bucks.
Not much to ask to reduce the speed with which our transportation infrastructure is decaying.
