ROCKLAND – A Maine woman who police say was pushed off a cliff by her then-husband is scheduled to testify in the man’s trial.

Lisa Black is set to take the stand Wednesday in the trial of Charles Black. He faces charges including attempted murder, two counts of elevated aggravated assault and three counts of aggravated assault.

Prosecutors say Charles Black hit Lisa Black on the head with a rock before pushing her off Maiden Cliff in Camden Hills State Park in April 2011. He contends that he is innocent and knocked Lisa Black off the cliff when he fainted and fell forward. They have since divorced.

Opening statements in the case took place on Tuesday. Attorneys expect the trial to last about two weeks.
