Northbound traffic was moving again before 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 295 after slowdowns from the entrance of the Maine Turnpike to Yarmouth due to a pair of crashes Friday.

A Maine State Police dispatcher said wrecker crews hadn’t arrived to clear vehicles involved in the collisions by 6 p.m., nearly two hours after they happened just north of Portland. That meant police had one lane for northbound traffic shut down since 4 p.m.

Initially, traffic was slowed between Falmouth and Yarmouth, but that spread the length of I-295 north as rush hour traffic was added to the mix, the dispatcher said.

No one was injured in the collisions, the dispatcher said.
