Fryeburg police charged a Massachusetts man with felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was arrested at a campsite along the Saco River on Friday night.
Police said they found 14 grams of cocaine at the campsite and allege it belonged to Vaughan C. Renaud, 21, of Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Renaud posted bail of $1,000 at the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Oxford County Superior Court on Sept. 12.
Fryeburg Police Chief Joshua Potvin said the town uses additional officers in the summer to patrol the river and campsites.
