I am a family physician in Down East Maine.
I have asked the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to consider adding obsessive-compulsive disorder as a qualifying condition to be prescribed medical marijuana. I have seen amazing changes in the lives of several patients with OCD who were certified for another qualifying condition.
The DHHS has announced that it will hold a hearing on this subject Aug. 6. I would love to have any interested people – especially patients who have used marijuana and had improvement in their OCD – attend the hearing and/or submit written statements.
I can send further information to anyone who emails me their fax number to sblythe@tds.net.
