Two people were arrested Wednesday in the Hancock County town of Sullivan after an altercation that left two people with stab wounds.

Maine State Police released few details about the altercation, which occurred at a residence on Asheville Road, but their investigation led them to charge William Gatcomb, 44, of Sullivan with assault and Rachel Dwyer, 41, of Sullivan, with aggravated assault.

Police arrived after the fight took place but found Gatcomb walking on a nearby road and Dwyer hiding behind a shed.

The two victims were not seriously injured, although one was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Gatcomb also was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries he suffered.

He then was taken to Hancock County Jail, where Dwyer already had been processed. Both were still being held as of 4 p.m. on $2,000 cash bail each.
