“Lean Systems Summit: Where Government, Services and Manufacturing Meet,” fifth annual event at Holiday Inn by the Bay, Spring Street in Portland. Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors Show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with a variety of exhibits highlighting technology, energy-efficient construction and small homes. Young volunteers will construct a house on-site from recycled wooden pallets. The show is held on the Rockland waterfront and tickets are $12. Admission is free for children under age 12. Strollers are not allowed on the docks and no pets are allowed on the show grounds.
