WEDNESDAY

Paddle to Indiantown Island

10 a.m. in Boothbay

Join Diane Gilman, the Boothbay Region Land Trust’s avid kayaker, as she paddles out to Indiantown Island Preserve. This event has been rescheduled from the postponed July 24 trip. This moderate paddle will pass by Miles and Spectacle Island preserves in the Sheepscot River before landing at the Indiantown Island float. Paddlers can stretch their legs with a short hike while investigating the cultural history of the preserve. The round-trip paddle launches at the Knickercane Boat Launch off the bridge on Barters Island Road in Boothbay, and is best suited for intermediate and advanced paddlers. Participants should bring water, snacks, sunblock and a life vest. To check trip status, call 633-4818.
