WALDOBORO – Police say one of two teenage boys struck by a truck Friday night in Maine has died.

Waldoboro police told WMTW-TV that Tyler Wood died Saturday afternoon at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He had been airlifted after suffering a serious head injury in the Lincoln County town of Waldoboro.

Police say the other teen suffered a leg injury.

Police said 24-year-old Joseph Benedict of Waldoboro was the driver of a truck owned by Simmons Lobster Wharf of Friendship. He told police he didn’t see the bike riders until the last moment.
