DERRY, N.H. – A competency evaluation has been ordered for a man accused of trying to poison two family members in New Hampshire.

Police say 50-year-old Wayne Hasnohorse is facing two charges of assault after he allegedly put something toxic in a jug of drinking water.

WMUR-TV reports he was living with his aunt and uncle in Londonderry, but was asked to move out last month because his relatives said they didn’t like the way he was treating them.

Police said the couple saw Hasnohorse shaking a gallon jug and putting it in the refrigerator. When they checked it, they thought it smelled like drain cleaner and contacted police. The local fire department examined the water and confirmed it was tainted with something dangerous

His bail remains at $10,000.
