SKOWHEGAN — A man was seriously injured by someone else at a house Thursday, and both Maine State Police and a LifeFlight helicopter were called to the area, police said.

The incident took place at 23 Chestnut St., off North Avenue, and police had the property cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape.

Police Chief Ted Blais said a man at the residence was badly injured by another person. The victim was taken by ambulance to Redington-Fairview hospital in Skowhegan as LifeFlight was called, Blais said.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit was also called to assist in the investigation.
