WORCESTER, Mass. — A grand jury has indicted three people who allegedly misled police investigating the disappearance and death of a 5-year-old Fitchburg boy.

A spokesman for the Worcester District Attorney said the indictments against Cailey Thibault, Ashley Cormier and Christian Sierra were returned Friday, moving their case to Superior Court.

Thibault faces two counts of intimidation of a witness and one count of perjury. Cormier and Sierra face one count each of intimidation of a witness and perjury. The three had previously pleaded not guilty in district court.

Jeremiah Oliver was reported missing in December.

His remains were found in April by the side of Interstate 190 in Sterling.

The case led to an outside review of the state Department of Children and Families and changes at the child welfare agency.
