Providence Service Corp. is now the largest single employer at Brunswick Landing, following completion of the second phase of a multimillion-dollar renovation project at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station.

C.J. Dirago, vice president of business development for the Priority Real Estate Group in Topsham, announced in a news release that his company completed the second phase, which cost $1.8 million, of the Providence project last month.

Priority Real Estate invested $4.5 million to renovate the former Navy base recreation building and the former Navy Lodge for use by Providence.

Providence is the largest provider of services to children with autism and developmental disabilities in Maine, serving 1,500 individuals statewide.

Dirago said completion of the project’s second phase will allow Providence Service to add 60 employees to its Brunswick workforce, bringing the company’s total employee count to 150.

At the Brunswick campus, Providence will serve an estimated 275 children ranging in age from infants to 18. The services will include a child care and preschool program for children 6 weeks to 5 years old and behavioral day treatment services for children with developmental disorders or behavioral disorders.
