I read the article about Gov. Le-Page’s partially funding a Maine-themed race car two days after I learned that my 17-year-old granddaughter and her mom lost their MaineCare (“State, businesses co-sponsor car branded to market Maine in NASCAR race,” Sept. 11).

It seems the income my granddaughter earned working two jobs this summer put the household income over the cutoff threshold.

It’s small wonder why many people question the direction this state is heading. Thank you for your reporting this nonsense.
