FREEPORT — Hannah Williams broke a scoreless tie early in the second half Wednesday and Freeport went on to a 2-0 victory against Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

Freshman Chloe Davidson added a goal with three minutes left for the Falcons (4-2) against the Capers (4-3). Morgan Karnes posted a shutout with three saves.

FALMOUTH 2, LAKE REGION 0: Elle Fitzgerald scored both goals for the Yachtsmen (4-2) against Lake Region (3-4) at Falmouth.

Fitzgerald put Falmouth ahead with 9:13 remaining. She made it 2-0 with 30 seconds to play.

Caroline Dyhrberg held the Lakers scoreless with four saves. Megan Van Loan made 10 stops for Lake Region.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: MacKenzie Sangster scored with 1:30 remaining in the second overtime as the Panthers (5-1) beat the Hawks (3-3) at South Hiram.

Sangster also scored the lone goal of the first half and Lynne Hebert tied it in the second. Elizabeth Coughlin totaled 14 saves for NYA; Chloe Ronco made eight on 12 shots for Sacopee.

POLAND 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Amanda Dube scored both first-half goals as the Knights (2-2) built a lead and held off the Raiders (3-2) at Fryeburg.

Mackenzie Hill scored for Fryeburg Academy from Janelle Weissman to make it 2-1.

Jasmine Ramsay blocked five shots for the Rangers; Tia Loundes had nine saves for Poland.

YARMOUTH 4, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Kallie Hutchinson and Georgia Giese each had a goal and an assist as the Clippers (6-0) handled the Rangers (2-4) at Yarmouth.

Breanne Morrill and Fiona Clarke both added a goal. Taylor Kashmer recorded 22 saves for Traip.

WELLS 2, WAYNFLETE 1: Madison Moulison scored with 4:31 left in overtime to boost Wells (3-3) over Waynflete (1-4) at Portland.

After Semhar Yeagdao scored for Waynflete in the first half, Takara McDermott tied it in the second..

Kiera Mawhinney finished with 14 saves for the Flyers and Mary Hebden had six for the Warriors.

YORK 2, KENNEBUNK 0: Devon Datsis had a goal and an assist to lead the Wildcats (6-0) over Kennebunk (3-3) at York.

Lily Posternak scored midway through the first half and Datsis’ goal came at 19:08 of the second, set up by Kayla Kelly.

GREELY 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Kayla Barry scored with 2:37 left in overtime for Greely at Cumberland.

After Barry opened the scoring at 10:49, Melody Larsen tied it midway through the half. Gray-New Gloucester took a 2-1 lead on Skye Conley’s goal early in the second half, but Maura Perry tied it less than a minute later.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

WINDHAM 7, CHEVERUS 0: Sierra Berthiaume scored four goals as the Eagles (4-0) downed the Stags (1-2-1) at Windham.

Jenna Soucy, Maggie Symonds and Cassie Symonds also scored. Hannah Tyson handled 18 saves for Cheverus.

MCAULEY 3, BIDDEFORD 2: Ayla Tarte scored all three goals, including the winner 2:30 into overtime, to lead the Lions (2-2) over the Tigers (1-2-1) at Biddeford.

Erin Martin and Missy Huot scored first-half goals to give Biddeford a 2-0 lead.

MARSHWOOD 3, SCARBOROUGH 2: Megan McLean scored twice to lead the Hawks (4-0-1) past the Red Storm (3-1) at South Berwick.

Sydney Jackman added a goal for Marshwood. Katherine Kirk and Gabriella Panagakos answered for Scarborough.

SANFORD 7, MASSABESIC 3: Vanessa Hodge scored four goals as the Spartans (2-2) downed Massabesic (1-3) at Sanford.

Laura Kirkpatrick gave Sanford a 3-1 halftime lead, heading in a cross from Abby Brown with 13 seconds remaining. Hodge added two goals early in the second half, and Lily Denham and Summer Camire added goals.

Haley Bantz, Natasha Silva and Kim Hendrix scored for the Mustangs.

THORNTON ACADEMY 8, BONNY EAGLE 1: Tori Daigle set a school record with six goals in a game – all in the first half – as the Trojans (4-0) downed Bonny Eagle (0-3-1) at Standish.

Daigle scored three goals in the first six minutes and had five with 24:55 left in the half. Katherine Gillespie fed Daigle on her first two goals. Emily Harris and Jess Haskell also assisted Daigle.

Cassidy Cochrane and Haskell added second-half goals for Thornton.

Coach Chris Kohl earned his 100th career victory.
