BRISTOL – A Lincoln County man was charged with marijuana trafficking after police raided his property in Bristol and found a marijuana growing operation.

Jeff Templeton, 60, was arrested Friday after deputies and agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency obtained a search warrant and found “16 very healthy mature plants growing outside,” Lt. Michael Murphy of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

Police also seized 5 pounds of bagged marijuana, one gram of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, a rifle, a handgun and an all terrain vehicle that he used to tend the plants. One pound of home-grown marijuana sells for $2,500 to $3,500, police said.

Marijuana trafficking, a Class C offense, is a felony. Additional charges will be brought before the grand jury, police said.
