SOUTH BERWICK — Simon Trcka scored two goals Thursday to lead Thornton Academy to a 4-2 victory against Marshwood in an SMAA schoolboy soccer game.

Tyler LeBell and Liam Eisenhaur also scored for Thornton (5-1-2). Hanssen Casey and Henry Herbold answered for Marshwood (4-4).

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 4, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 1: Ethan Spaulding scored three goals as the Lions (7-0-1) handled the Knights (0-5) at Charleston.

Jeremiah Hammond had a goal and an assist, and Matt Hammond contributed a pair of assists for Greater Portland Christian.

Mason Jones stopped two shots for the Lions and Seuk Hwee totaled 21 saves for Highview Christian.

GORHAM 5, WINDHAM 0: Jackson Fotter had three goals and an assist as the Rams (6-0-1) shut out the Eagles (0-7) at Gorham.

Cody Elliott had a goal and three assists, and Ethan Orach added a goal. Trenton Bassingthwaite and Alex York combined for five saves for Gorham. Kyle Joseph stopped three shots for Windham.

CHOP POINT 2, A.R. GOULD 1: Emily Whitney tapped in a deflected shot in the second overtime, lifting the Blue Bears (4-2) over A.R. Gould (0-4) at South Portland.

Keegan Gaouette’s goal gave Gould a 1-0 lead, which it held until Jasser Saenz tied it on a penalty kick with 25 seconds left in regulation.

Cullen Cummings had nine saves for Chop Point and Dariyn Wolfe 13 for A.R. Gould.

FALMOUTH 7, POLAND 0: Luke Velas had three goals and an assist as the Yachtsmen (5-0-2) cruised past the Knights (3-3-1) at Poland.

Gabe Mahoney scored in the first half from Velas. Jonah Spiegal, Greyson Cohen and Ben Wuesthoff added second-half goals.

Nick Sanzari stopped the only shot on goal he faced for Falmouth. Zack Lowe made 13 saves on the 21 shots he faced for Poland.

BONNY EAGLE 3, NOBLE 1: Ryan Moody had two goals and an assist as the Scots (3-3-2) edged the Knights (1-3) at Standish.

After Josh Emard scored from Brandon Ford for Noble in the first half, Zack Moody assisted on Ryan Moody’s tying goal and added one of his own.

Jeff Martin had 11 saves for Bonny Eagle. Zach White made 12 for Noble.

WESTBROOK 1, SANFORD 0: Varney Kai lined a 30-yard shot off the crossbar and into the net, and Westbrook (4-2-2) went on to down the Spartans (2-5) at Sanford.

D.J. Henrikson had eight saves for the shutout.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 3, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Michaela Hill scored all three goals as the Knights (1-3) beat Greater Portland Christian (0-6) at Charleston.

Kyrie Austin scored for the Lions from Kaeley Brann.

FALMOUTH 5, POLAND 0: Tyler Spence had three goals and an assist to pace the Yachtsmen (4-2-1) past Poland (1-5-1) at Falmouth.

Emma England added a goal and an assist, and Marcy Kittredge also scored. Erin Brewer made 27 saves for the Knights, who had no shots on goal.

YORK 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Maddie Amidon and Samantha Robinson scored second-half goals as the Wildcats (4-2-1) rallied past the Patriots (2-4) in Gray.

Izzy DeTroy scored with 39:23 remaining in the first half from Maria Valente for Gray-New Gloucester. Amidon’s goal tied it 37:14 left in the second half, and Robinson won it with 8:03 remaining from Payton Humphrey.

Zoe Adams had 10 saves for Gray-New Gloucester.

FIELD HOCKEY

MT. VIEW 2, OCEANSIDE 1: Megan Mikel scored with 13:17 remaining as the Mustangs (5-2-2) edged the Mariners (5-3) at Rockland.

Reanna Boulay scored unassisted with four minutes to stake Mt. View to a 1-0 halftime lead. Amanda Hope tied it with 15:47 remaining in the game.

Zoe Billington had eight saves on 10 shots for Oceanside. Dinah Bilodeau totaled 10 saves for Mt. View.

CONY 3, BANGOR 1: Arika Brochu had two goals and Delaney Keithley added two assists to help power Cony (6-3) past Bangor (2-7) in Augusta.

Bangor tied it at halftime on a goal from Torrie Nightengale with three seconds left in the first half, but Cony responded out of the break.

Keithley set up Molly Silsby for the go-ahead goal with 24:58 remaining and Brochu added a goal 12 minutes later.

MESSALONSKEE 5, EDWARD LITTLE 1: All three of Lydia Dexter’s goals came from Emily Hogan as the Eagles (9-1) won at Oakland.

Ally Leighton and Ally Corbett also scored for Messalonskee.

GARDINER 1, ERSKINE ACADEMY 0: Leah Weymouth’s goal at 27:11 of the first half lifted the Tigers (7-1-1) over the Eagles (4-4-1) at South China.

Olivia Philbrook and Kaylin Mansir combined to pick up the shutout as Gardiner outshot Erskine, 11-3. The Tigers also held a 14-4 edge in penalty corners.

VOLLEYBALL

SOUTH PORTLAND 3, CHEVERUS 0: Holly Black had six aces, six kills and two blocks as the Red Riots (2-5) swept the Stags (0-8) at Portland, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Paige Carter added seven kills and a pair of aces.

GREELY 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Kayley Cimino had eight kills, five aces and a pair of blocks as the Rangers (7-0) swept the Trojans (4-3) at Saco, 25-23, 25-19, 25-11.

Lauren Weickert had six kills, a block and an ace, and Alex Tebbs added four aces, four kills and two blocks. Thornton totaled 16 aces with Ally Cannon getting seven and Ashley Howe adding four.
