Brendan Bullock’s Travel Journals, an exhibition of his photographs taken in India, Newfoundland, Peru and Tanzania, will open Tuesday at Maine Media Gallery in Rockport.

Bullock documents a livestock festival in India and humanitarian projects in Peru and Tanzania, and explores desolate towns in Newfoundland. His images capture the visual and emotional moments most important to him. He says the interactions he has with the people he encounters on his travels “are more important than the pictures.”

He worked as a teaching assistant at Maine Media Workshops from 2009 to 2011 and taught his first solo workshop in 2014. Bullock works as a freelance portrait, editorial and wedding photographer and exhibits nationally as a fine artist.

Bullock will present an artist talk at 4 p.m. Oct. 7, followed by a reception. The exhibition runs through Nov. 15 in the gallery at 18 Central St. in Rockport. Gallery hours are 1:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
