BANGOR — Bangor police are investigating an early morning fatal crash.
Police say the victim drove a pickup truck the wrong way down a street at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday before crashing down an embankment.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not immediately made public.
An officer on routine patrol in a marked cruiser first saw the truck traveling in the wrong lane and pulled out of the way. The truck struck the cruiser causing minor damage. The truck continued, turning the wrong way down a street before crossing the railroad tracks and crashing.
