Emera Maine is reporting 2,248 households in Hancock County are without power early Wednesday morning.
Households in Amherst, Aurora, Clifton, Eastbrook, Ellsworth, Fletcher’s Landing, Mariahville, Osborne, Otis and Waltham have been affected by the outage, but the cause is still being investigated, according to a release from Emera Maine just before 6 a.m.
Power is expected to be restored within several hours. Officials have requested residents avoid touching fallen power lines or trees.
