YARMOUTH — Marina Poole slipped a shot past Tori Messina with six minutes left in the first overtime to give North Yarmouth Academy a 2-1 win over Yarmouth in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game Friday.

Poole also scored the Panthers’ first goal, and Mackenzie Sangster assisted on both goals. Elizabeth Coughlin had six saves for NYA (9-2), which dressed only 10 players. The Panthers avenged a 2-1 loss at Yarmouth three weeks ago.

Kallie Hutchinson scored for Yarmouth (10-1).

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: Nicki Thurston converted a penalty corner less than two minutes into the first overtime as the Raiders (7-4) edged the Capers (6-6) at Cape Elizabeth.

The Capers took the lead when Taylor Young scored on an assist from Taylor Herrera early in the second half. Mackenzie Hill got the equalizer for Fryeburg with two minutes left in regulation.

Mariah Davis assisted on the winning goal.

YORK 5, POLAND 0: Lily Posternak and Devon Datsis scored two goals apiece to pace the Wildcats (11-0) over the Knights (7-4) at Poland.

Kayla Kelly also scored, and Livy Golini made four saves for York.

KENNEBUNK 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Olivia Sanford recorded a hat trick for the Rams (7-5) as they downed the Patriots (1-10) at Gray.

Brittney Gregoire and Lindsey Gregoire added a goal apiece.

BOYS’ SOCCER

FREEPORT 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Jack Davenport scored twice to lead the Falcons (2-6-1) over the Panthers (5-3-1) in Freeport.

Davenport’s goal late in the first half gave Freeport a 1-0 lead. Davenport and Josh Spaulding added second-half goals. Caleb Abbott, Nate Smail and Kyle Rosado each had an assist.

Freeport keeper Brendan Qualls made three saves. NYA’s Clayton Manchester stopped five shots.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 5, TEMPLE 1: Matt Hammond scored twice as the Lions (8-0-1) beat Temple (3-5) in South Portland.

Jeremiah Hammond, Killian Patterson and Jim Rudolph also scored, and David Davol had two assists. Patrick Blaisdell notched Temple’s only goal.

Teddy Lane finished with three saves for GPCS.

WINDHAM 10, BIDDEFORD 0: Caitlyn Winn scored three goals and Jenna Soucy collected two goals and three assists for the Eagles (9-0) against the Tigers (2-5-2) at Windham.

Ciera Berthiaume also scored twice. Emily Kent added a goal and an assist.

Biddeford keepers Anna Marie Seiler and Camryn McKeown combined to make 21 saves.

THORNTON ACADEMY 8, SANFORD 1: Tori Daigle scored three goals and set up another as the Trojans (8-1) rolled past the Spartans (2-6-1) at Saco.

Haley DeGraca added a pair of goals and an assist, and Katherine Gillespie, Eden LeBlanc and Cassidy Cochrane contributed a goal apiece.

Summer Camire scored for Sanford.

MT. ARARAT 7, SKOWHEGAN 0: Torri Pelletier scored twice as the Eagles (5-3-1) cruised past the Indians (0-8) in Skowhegan.

Christine Levesque, Ronni Pelletier, Erin Tome, Katie Labbay and Chloe Beattie also scored.

PINE TREE ACADEMY 7, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Allison Verrill scored four goals and Alex Goodman added three as the Breakers (4-3) cruised past the Lions (0-10) at Freeport.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Katie Connelly led the Capers (6-2) with 11 kills, six digs and five aces as they swept the Trojans (4-6) at Cape Elizabeth, 25-11, 25-20, 25-13. Rose Punsky had 10 assists, and Lydia Brennerman added 10 digs.

FALMOUTH 3, WINDHAM 0: Megan Tammaro had 22 assists and 11 service points to lead the Yachtsmen (8-2) past the Eagles (5-5) at Falmouth, 25-14, 26-24, 25-16.

Emma Walsh added six kills and four aces.

Cassie Fleck had four blocks and Maelah Nadeau finished with six kills for Windham.
