Authorities say investigations into fires in Biddeford and Lewiston continue, but that there have been no breakthroughs in either case.
A fire intentionally set in a Biddeford apartment building Sept. 18 killed one man, Michael Moore, 23. His roommate James Ford, was still in critical condition Friday.
The State Police have taken over that investigation because it is a homicide. The investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office continue to probe the cause of the fire and whether the apartment building violated life safety codes.
The cause of a fire in an apartment building at 101 Birch St. in Lewiston also remains under investigation.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze in the 17-unit building. That fire displaced 24 people.
