Route 35 in Standish remained closed at 11:45 a.m. after two utility poles were brought down in a crash that surprisingly left nobody injured.

The crash was reported at 6:49 a.m. near Busque Boulevard.

Debra Martinson, 49, of Limington, was driving a 1997 Toyota south on Route 35, also called Chadbourne Road, when she fell asleep, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle drifted off the road and hit a utility pole, breaking it.

Libby Warren, 59, of North Waterboro, was driving north in a 2000 Kenworth logging truck when the wires downed by Martinson’s crash tangled on the truck, and pulled down another pole, the sheriff’s office said.

Traffic was rerouted around the crash area while Central Maine Power Co. replaced the poles and restrung the wires. The busy connector road was expected to be reopened by noon.
