CAPE ELIZABETH — Montana Braxton and Mariah Deschino scored first-half goals Tuesday and Cape Elizabeth held on for a 2-1 victory against Falmouth in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl soccer game.

Lucy Mahoney answered for Falmouth (5-3-2) on a corner kick late in the second half against the Capers (6-3-1).

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, LAKE REGION 0: Julia Quinn broke down the left side and tucked her shot in unassisted as the Raiders (3-4-2) nipped the Lakers (4-5-1) at Naples.

Isabel Scribner had eight saves for Lake Region. Makayla Cooper stopped five shots for Fryeburg.

MT. ARARAT 6, LEWISTON 2: Chloe Beattie scored twice as the Eagles (7-3-1) defeated the Blue Devils (5-5) in Lewiston.

Erin Tome, Torri Pelletier, Ronni Pelletier and Libby Ouellette also scored for Mt. Ararat.

Christina Blais and Taylor Chamberlain answered for Lewiston.

TRAIP ACADEMY 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Elora McCuddy had two goals and an assist as the Rangers (5-4-1) shut out the Seagulls (2-8-2) at Kittery.

Elli Batchelder added two goals, Cecilia Driscoll had a goal and Sadie Hummiston added a pair of assists.

Lynne Moore had 11 saves for the shutout. Lauralee Small made eight saves for Old Orchard.

WELLS 1, FREEPORT 1: Becca Cameron converted a penalty shot for the Falcons (2-6-2) with 10 minutes left as they rallied to tie the Warriors (0-9-1) at Freeport.

Wells took the lead in the first half when Alison Duplisea scored her fourth goal of the season.

Sara Ring made 16 saves for the Warriors.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0, FREEPORT 0: Morgan Karnes made 12 saves for the Falcons (7-4-1) and Jasmine Ramsay stopped six shots for the Raiders (7-4-1) at Freeport.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1, WAYNFLETE 0: Marina Poole scored from the top of the circle 21 minutes into the game and the Panthers (10-2) held off the Flyers (2-8-1) behind 22 saves from Elizabeth Coughlin in Portland.

YARMOUTH 5, WELLS 0: Abby McDowell and Georgia Giese scored in the first half as the Clippers (11-1) pulled away from the Warriors (5-6) in Yarmouth.

Kallie Hutchinson, Breanna Morrill and Fiona Clarke added second-half goals.

CAPE ELIZABETH 1, GREELY 1: Charlotte Benoit scored for Greely (3-7-1) and Michaela Pinette answered for the Capers (6-6-1) at Cumberland.

Benoit scored with 2:14 left in the first half from Mikela Nolin. Pinette’s goal was unassisted at 24:22 of the second half.

YORK 3, LAKE REGION 0: Lily Posternak scored twice in the second half and also assisted on a first-half goal by Devon Datsis to lead the Wildcats (12-0) over the Lakers (3-9) at Naples.

Datsis and Kayla Kelly assisted on Posternak’s first goal, which gave York a 2-0 lead with 26 minutes remaining.

VOLLEYBALL

FALMOUTH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Megan Tammaro had 22 assists, and Ally Hickey finished with five kills and six blocks as Falmouth (9-2) downed the Trojans (4-7) 25-19, 25-9 and 25-17 at Saco.

Ashley Howe and Kylee Austin combined for nine kills for the Trojans.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Tess Haller had eight kills and Maddie Bowe added six as the Capers (8-2) defeated the Panthers (3-9) at Yarmouth.

Hannah Sawyer added three kills and eight digs for the Capers, who won the games by scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-17.

GREELY 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Hannah Butland had 20 assists, five kills and four aces as the Rangers (11-0) swept the Rams (2-8) at Cumberland.

Kayley Cimino had five aces, five assists and four kills, and Lauren Weickert had 15 service receipts, eight kills and a pair of blocks for Greely.
