LONDON — The Duchess of Cambridge plans to resume royal duties later this month after being sidelined by a long bout of morning sickness.

Palace officials said Friday that Prince William and the former Kate Middleton are scheduled to welcome Singapore President Tony Tan for a four-day state visit Oct. 21.

She had canceled a number of engagements after her second pregnancy was announced in early September. Officials said at the time she was being treated for acute morning sickness at the family quarters in Kensington Palace.
