WATERBORO — Peter Hegarty rushed for 158 yards and scored four touchdowns as Sanford rolled to a 37-7 win over Massabesic in a Western Class A regular-season finale Friday night.

Hegarty had three rushing touchdowns and added a 60-yard kick return for a score after the Spartans (4-4) recorded a safety in the fourth quarter.

Sanford also had three interceptions, two by Tye Laviolette and one that was returned for a touchdown by Chase Eldredge. Brian Main, Cody Marshall and Zack Payeur also helped anchor the Spartans’ defense.

Mike Risti scored on a 1-yard run for Massabesic (1-7) late in the third quarter.

WESTBROOK 46, OCEANSIDE 12: Maurice Johnson finished with 240 yards rushing and four touchdowns and also had four 2-point conversions as the Blue Blazes (3-5) used a 24-point second quarter to pull away from the Mariners (2-6) at Rockland.

Westbrook opened the scoring on a 61-yard touchdown pass from Bailey Sawyer to Bailey Ryan, and went into the second quarter with a 14-0 lead after a 27-yard touchdown run by Johnson.

In the second quarter, Johnson scored on runs of 5 and 52 yards and Nate Wetherington caught a 35-yard pass from Sawyer.

Sawyer completed 5 of 8 passes for 104 yards.

Oceanside scored on a kickoff return and a fumble recovery in the end zone.

Westbrook secured the No. 5 seed in the Western Class B playoffs and will visit No. 4 Greely in the quarterfinals next weekend.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 41, BOOTHBAY 14: Bryan Roberts rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns and also threw a touchdown pass to lead the Seagulls (5-3) past the Seahawks (2-6) at Old Orchard Beach.

Old Orchard led 12-0 at the end of the first quarter on a pair of touchdown runs by Roberts, who then threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Joe Anderson and added a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The Seagulls extended the lead to 34-0 going into halftime on a 15-yard fumble return by Zach Demers.

Eric Hogan’s 9-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Old Orchard a 41-0 lead.

Both Boothbay touchdowns were scored by Nick Gorey – a 2-yard run in the third quarter and a 35-yard pass from Duncan Drapeau in the fourth.

Andrew Graves finished with 78 yards on seven carries for the Seagulls. Hunter Boutot led the defense with 11 tackles.

LAWRENCE 34, MESSALONSKEE 14: Cole Robinson gained 130 yards and scored three touchdowns in his first game at running back, leading the Bulldogs (6-2) past the Eagles (4-4) at Fairfield.

CONY 41, GARDINER 0: Reid Shostak rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and Mitchell Caron had two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown as the Rams (6-2) beat the Tigers (2-4) in Gardiner.

WATERVILLE 42, MADISON/CARRABEC 19: Cam Thomas and Dan Pooler combined for six touchdowns, five of them in the second half, as the Purple Panthers (7-1) pulled away from the Bulldogs (4-4) at Madison.

Thomas carried the ball 24 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Pooler rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
